Department of Mechanical & Biomedical Engineering is the foundation of all engineering technologies and forms basis of national basic industries including automobile, machinery, electronics, shipbuilding, and heavy industry. Meanwhile, biomedical engineering is the high-tech industry of the future for manufacturing medical devices related to diagnosis and treatment of diseases, and rehabilitation using engineering technologies. Students of mechanical and biomedical engineering will be fostered as talents possessing converged medical technologies based on mechanical engineering by adding understanding of biomedical engineering to knowledge of mechanical engineering, and play a pivotal role in research and development of existing basic industries as well as future high-tech industries.
