In the bachelor's degree program in Spanish and Spanish American Language, Literature and Culture, it is an advantage if you already have good Spanish language skills, so that you can fully benefit from the teaching, which is primarily conducted in Spanish, from the first day.

Language, literature and culture
As a student of Spanish, you will study the language, literature and society of Spanish-speaking countries and regions. The study gives you privileged access to understanding Spanish-speaking societies and the opportunity to delve into the diverse cultures of these countries. At the same time, you will work systematically with language, where you will not only further develop your Spanish but also be introduced to linguistics. You will also work in depth with the analysis of cultural products, including literary texts from Spanish-speaking countries.

Everyday life in Spanish
The teaching in the Bachelor's degree program in Spanish is based on lectures, presentations and discussions in small groups. You will spend a lot of time with your study group, where you prepare for the lessons and solve assignments together. In the 4th semester, we recommend that you go on an exchange to a Spanish-speaking country, where you can develop your language skills and experience a Spanish-speaking country up close.

Career opportunities
As a bachelor's degree holder in Spanish, you can continue your studies on a number of master's degree programmes. For example, the dual-subject master's degree programme in Spanish with an elective subject, which is a direct extension of the bachelor's degree programme. This can give you job opportunities in areas such as teaching, communication, translation or marketing. You can also choose to study a master's degree in Intercultural Studies (Latin America and Spain), so that you specialise in working in intercultural contexts.
